Three tiny puppies were found abandoned by the side of a busy road in Romania. They had no idea of the danger around them. The sound of speeding cars was deafening, yet they played carelessly, unaware of the threat. Just a few meters away from the traffic, the risk of being hit was huge. They were lucky—saved just in time by the caring team at Howl Of A Dog.
The puppies were left in a plastic crate, alongside a cut plastic bottle with some water in it. It was heartbreaking. Someone had abandoned them, probably hoping they would just survive on their own. These innocent puppies, with no understanding of the world, had no chance. Without help, they would have died.
Abandoning puppies, especially when so many free neuter and spay programs are available, is an act of cruelty.
When the rescue team arrived, they carefully placed the puppies in the van. They were frightened and trembling, their small bodies covered in fleas and dirt. But the team knew they were safe now. There would be no more danger.
The team double-checked the area for any other abandoned animals, but the puppies were all that remained.
At the shelter, the puppies were bathed, their bodies drenched in flea-infested fur. They stayed calm as the water washed away the filth and the parasites. They were so good during the bath, as if they knew this was the beginning of something better. Their fur became soft and clean, and for the first time in a long while, they felt comforted and safe.
The puppies were named Jack, Julia, and Jane. They started to show their true personalities—playful, sweet, and full of life. They loved to eat, their tails wagging constantly as they played with their food bowls, sharing meals with each other.
The team made sure they received all the care they needed: flea treatment, deworming, and vaccinations. But the best part was seeing them laugh and play together.
The puppies soon met Taz and Safin, two older dogs who had also been rescued. Taz, a white and brown dog, welcomed them with open paws, and Safin, a gentle black dog, played tug-of-war with them. The puppies loved to tease Taz, nibbling at his tail and rolling on the ground in playful chaos. Taz, in return, showered them with affection, licking their faces and wagging his tail.
One of the puppies, with innocent eyes and a playful spirit, would dip his paws into the water bowl, cleaning them before entering the shelter.
Every day was a new adventure. The puppies would play with each other and the other dogs, rolling in the grass, chasing balls, and even trying to steal socks and shoes. Jack, Julia, and Jane had so much energy and love to give.
Soon, it was time for the puppies to receive their vaccinations. As they rode to the vet, one of the puppies peacefully slept on the backseat, content and calm. It was a moment of peace after all the chaos. The puppies had come so far since that scary day by the road. Now, they were healthy, happy, and full of life.
But there’s still a long way to go. Jack, Julia, and Jane need a family of their own. They need a home where they will be loved and cared for. They are three months old now as of 6 July 2018, and they will likely grow into medium-sized dogs. They’ve had their share of hardship, but now they are ready to share their joy with someone who will treasure them forever.
Abandonment is cruelty. Spaying and neutering pets is the only way to prevent this heartbreak. Jack, Julia, and Jane were saved in time, but not all puppies are as lucky.
