“I don’t want to get up,” Jackson protests—loudly, with flair. One look at this Siberian husky and you’d think he was born for the stage. He throws tantrums over apples, glares at grapefruits, and has full-blown conversations with his humans like a grumpy toddler who skipped nap time.
But Jackson wasn’t always center stage.
He was originally meant to be a farm dog. His newly retired dad had adopted him to roam free in the Oregon countryside. But everything changed when his dad passed away unexpectedly. The family gathered, grieving, uncertain of what to do with Jackson.
They weren’t ready for a dog. But letting him go? Impossible! So, he came home to a couple who didn’t plan for a dog… and couldn’t imagine life without him now.
Jackson is one of a kind, a hundred percent Siberian husky with 200% personality. He sheds like it’s his job—nonstop, everywhere, all the time. He’ll put his hind legs onto the couch with his front legs still on the floor, as if halfway into a joke only he understands. And he has a mysterious need to paw at the carpet, just a little.
He howls. He yells. He talks back. But most of all—he loves. Especially his dad! Though his mom spends more time with him, there’s a special bond with his dad that can’t be explained, only felt.
And then there’s ice; his favorite snack. The sound of the fridge ice dispenser turns him into a blur of fur and excitement. Sometimes, the family fills a pool with pounds of ice, and Jackson dives in like he’s found heaven, chomping joyfully.
Not long ago, Jackson lost his older sister, a Miniature Pinscher who had been part of the family for 16 years. He still waits by her bowl. He still glances down the stairs, hoping. He misses her. So does everyone else.
But Jackson keeps the house alive—with noise, with drama, with love. He’s not just a dog. He’s a family member, a personality, a protector. And his dad promises to love and protect him.
