Inna: Seven Years in Silence, Now a Life Full of Belly Rubs

Left in a Field for 7 Years, Inna Finally Finds Love

For nearly seven years, Inna, a sweet Pyrenean dog, lived tucked away in the wild hush of a forgotten field. Her world was an open stretch of tall, uncut grass, waving in the wind like a sea around her.

With no roof but an old iron sheet, no bed but a worn mattress on the dirt, and no walls but shadows from a cloth draped across a makeshift doorway, this was the only home she had ever known.

Beside her was Zelda, her only friend, her quiet companion in the stillness. Together they endured storms, heat, and freezing nights.

A kind young man came each day with food, the only soul who remembered them. But even kindness could not keep the dangers at bay forever. Time had worn the shelter thin. It was no longer safe. These gentle souls needed more than food. They needed love. Companionship. Safety.

As the camera approached for the first time, Inna’s tail began to wag with such tender excitement. She had never been touched with kindness before, yet she leaned into it like she’d been waiting her whole life for that moment.

Her soft paws gently rested on the rescuer’s knees, as if to say, “Please… take me with you.” Her eyes, dark and gentle, searched for warmth. When a hand reached to pat her head, she responded in the most tender way, lifting her own paw again, asking for more.

As the patting continued, she lay down and stretched out, rolling on her back, gently nudging with her paw, asking for belly rubs. It was the purest form of trust. That moment was the beginning of her new life.

Inna was rescued alongside Zelda, her loyal friend, and brought into the care of Howl of A Dog in Romania. There, Inna came alive. She circled with playful energy, she ate from kind hands, and wagged her tail at every kind word. She adored belly rubs, and every time she laid down and lifted her paw, it was her way of saying, “I feel safe.”

Inna is seven years old. She loves food and gentle hands. With her black and white coat and soulful eyes, she steals hearts in silence.

Zelda now lives in Germany, fostered by a loving family. In a heartwarming scene, she walks alongside a Golden Retriever, their leashes tied together, a puppy trailing behind them. Her eyes sparkle. Her past, like Inna’s, is slowly becoming just that—a past.

Today, Inna wags her tail with joy. She no longer hides in the grass. She greets with confidence. She eats treats from gentle hands. And every time she lays on her back, asking for belly rubs, it’s her way of saying—thank you for seeing me!

Her journey is proof that even the longest wait can end in the warmest embrace.
