Waiting For Your Adopt An Animal Packet? Please Read

We sincerely apologize if your Adopt An Animal package delivery has been delayed. We know how important it is for gifts to arrive in a timely manner, so we process all orders no later than the following business day. Our volunteers have been working 16 hour shifts, 7 days a week this season to promptly process the influx of orders from increased online shopping due to COVID-19. Unfortunately, during this challenging time, circumstances beyond our control are slowing shipping times. We are doing everything we can to ship orders as quickly as possible, but the United States Postal Service is currently experiencing an unprecedented backlog due to the global pandemic.
We ship via USPS Priority Mail to ensure, normally, that domestic packets arrive in 2 to 4 days. But USPS is overwhelmed this year with packages due to the drastic increase in online shopping, and is also short staffed due to CoronaVirus infections and mandated quarantines. Thousands of postal workers have been infected with the virus or have been required to quarantine. Cleveland, which is the main hub for northern Ohio, has been hit extra hard. We are in daily contact with our local Postmaster, who is continuing to monitor the situation and states that the holiday shipping rush is slowing down. Shipping times are expected to begin to return to normal. Please note that tracking updates are increasingly spotty at the moment, so just because it looks like a package is stuck somewhere doesn’t mean it isn’t on its way.
Unfortunately expedited shipping is not reliable at the moment, and sending out another kit will only result in the second kit arriving even later than the first. Using another shipping service will not expedite shipping either as FedEx and UPS, also overwhelmed, have already routed some of their increased orders through the overwhelmed Postal Service.
We know your gift likely needs to be given to the recipient by a certain date, and we don’t want your friend or family member to be disappointed. We have created a gift letter that can be given to your loved one stating their Adopt An Animal packet has been delayed but is on the way...if you believe the packet will not arrive in time for your gift-giving date. This letter can be printed, or forwarded in an email.
